Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Initially, we make sure that you are in our service area and then we ask that you send a few photos or video of the area to be cleared. If you would rather us come out and take a look in person we can do that too.  We also need to make sure there are no plants that are poisonous to the goats. Once we determine what set up, amount of time, and fencing is needed, we will give an estimate based on our daily rates. We will schedule a day for the temporary fence to be installed and then for the goats to be dropped off!

What do they eat?

Goats love to eat weeds, brush and plants. They do not love grass. They will eat everything that they think tastes good, which is usually all the invasive greenery on your property. Please keep in mind that the animals will not eat woody stalks, as they focus on stripping the leaves off. They will strip the small trees down to the stalks as far as they can reach.

In addition, we offer landscape services to clean up after the goats have done their job. This service is priced separately.

How many goats do you bring?

We usually focus on small to medium jobs, so 10 or less goats should do the trick. We can determine that when we have our consultation. For larger jobs we can bring 2 goat crews out.

What about my dogs?

We will secure the goats in a temporary, very low voltage electric fence. Our goats are very used to dogs and other animals being around, so there is usually no problem. It is the owner’s responsibility to keep their dogs out of the goats’ area while working.

What do I need to do while they are here?

We basically want you to enjoy their quiet munching! They are so relaxing and very entertaining! We will leave water buckets and ask that you check and make sure they are full each day. We will drop in to check on the herd frequently. You can call us anytime during the job with questions.
